The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, regretted the terrorist attack this Sunday on a beach in Sydney, Australia, which left at least 12 dead. He did this through a message from X in which he attacks the Spanish government and RTVE.
The Australian Prime Minister said it was a terrorist attack aimed at the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah on Bondi Beach. According to Ayuso, anti-Semitism is fought from Madrid “despite the Spanish government and public television”, which he also considers to be now “its main spokesperson”.
“Even if it remains to be known, many voices were already warning about the rise of anti-Semitism in Australia,” declared the president of the region on her X account.
At present, the investigation into what happened is still ongoing by the country’s authorities, shocked by the news.
It’s not the first time that Ayuso accuses the government or left-wing parties and describes them as anti-Semitic for their position on the genocide in Gaza since the start of the Israeli offensive. On several occasions, the Madrid opposition has criticized the president for her alignment with Israel after the thousands of deaths in Gaza.
Now he takes advantage of the event in Australia to once again attack Sánchez and, in addition, RTVE, a public channel very criticized by the PP especially in recent months and, above all, by Ayuso after the information about his partner and the television’s decision to leave Eurovision due to the participation of Israel.
