But what does this have to do with the success of the Corinthians?
The year 2009 was triumphant for both clubs and, like today, the fall of Cruzeiro was involved. On this occasion, Corinthians won their 3rd Copa do Brasil title. But who also won this same season was Estudiantes, above the Minas Gerais club.

The current president of the Argentine team, Juan Sebatián Verón, was the hero of the 2-1 victory in Mineirão, which gave the Pincharratas the Libertadores title.
