Los Alcázares (Murcia), December 15 (EFE). – The mayor of Los Alcázares, Mario Cervera, has suspended school operations for this Monday in all school cycles due to the risk of flooding the municipality’s Rambla, which reaches its maximum water level of 3.10 meters at five in the morning.
In statements to EFE, the city council explained that in anticipation of the rains that continued that day and to avoid damage, it was decided to suspend classes due to the proximity of the Antonio Menárguez Costa Institute, the Bienvenido Conejero Requiel school and the municipal kindergarten to the city’s flood zone.
“We are prepared so that in the event of an overflow of the canal we can defend ourselves with the stormwater network, but to avoid unnecessary risks we have suspended classes,” said the first mayor of the city of Mar Menor. EFE
