The IBGE highlights: productivity in Brazil increases with the reduction of working hours
Summary
Intelligent automation increases worker productivity in Brazil by up to 25%, while technologies reduce hours worked and promote a balance between efficiency and quality of life, according to IBGE and experts.
For years, phrases like “working while they sleep” have been sold as the engine of success. They shaped a culture of extreme effort, stemming from an era when productivity meant working more hours. But the situation is changing. The new generation of professionals and businesses is beginning to trade excess for efficiency and sacrifice for intelligence.
“For a long time, productivity was measured in working hours. Today, the new ‘working while you sleep’ uses technology to achieve results, without sacrificing quality of life,” says César Baleco, CEO of IRRAH Tech, a Paraná company with global operations in the field of automation and artificial intelligence solutions aimed at operational efficiency.
Baleco’s speech reflects a change that goes beyond corporate speech. According to a McKinsey Global Institute survey, intelligent automation can increase average worker productivity by 20-25% when applied strategically to task execution. Furthermore, the IBGE recorded a 0.4% drop in hours actually worked in the second quarter of 2025, a sign that producing more, even while working less, is a possible reality.
“Our goal is to use technology to give people time and quality of life back, without loss of performance,” explains Luan Mileski, product and sales manager of the company.
The company, headquartered in Cianorte (PR) and operating globally, offers automation and artificial intelligence solutions and improves the way companies of different sizes communicate and operate. Among the main innovations is PlugChat, a platform that centralizes and manages services through WhatsApp, transforming the application into an intelligent business communications center. Thanks to it, companies in different segments – from fashion retail to logistics and services – can automate what is repetitive and professionalize the relationship with their customers in a simple and scalable way.
“In addition to automating the repetitive, PlugChat ensures a more organized and intelligent service. All chats are concentrated in a single environment, which reduces lost messages, rework and improves response time,” explains Mileski.
With an intuitive interface, performance reporting, and the ability to have multiple agents work on the same WhatsApp number, PlugChat helps managers identify bottlenecks, measure productivity, and continually improve the customer experience. “This has a direct impact on customer satisfaction but also on the quality of life of teams, who now face a more predictable and more human flow.
Mileski also highlights another IRRAH Tech system: KIGI, focused on performance and management integration. The company offers an ecosystem with omnichannel integration, virtual store, cloud system and mobile application. “Solutions like KIGI increase management performance, delivering measurable results and efficiency,” he says.
“Automation does not replace people; it gives them back what is most precious in the modern world: time and balance,” concludes the company’s CEO.
