Dutch security forces arrested 22 people during a protest in the capital Amsterdam against the Israeli singer’s concert Shai Abrahamsondemonstrations which gathered around the Concertgebouw hall and … which resulted in injury to an officer.
Police, who reported on Monday that a group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators broke into the area on Sunday evening, where they threw green and red smoke bombs, explained that the officers had not use of batons to attempt for suppressing the protest.
The events occurred as a rejection of the concert of the controversial Israeli singer during Hanukkah celebrations, a Jewish holiday. Officers said all those arrested were accused of violating the assemblies law and refused to identify themselves, according to a statement.
Hundreds of people gathered in Museumplein park across the street, waving Palestinian flags and criticizing the concert. They also accused Israeli authorities of “massacring children” in Gaza.
