The Campos family is once again in the spotlight after José María Almoguera confessed in “On Friday” that he was upset and expressed his incomprehension about the distancing from his cousin Alejandra Rubio. He claimed not to know the origin of the problem between the two and even had a tense moment with his aunt Terelu Campos on set.
Now it was his mother who sat down on “Let’s See” to tell her version. He acknowledges that the situation is “very difficult” and “very complicated,” but denies that his son has opened a new family conflict. In her opinion, the only thing she has done is express what hurt her, just as she encouraged Alejandra to write to her cousin to try to bring things closer. He insists that it seems “normal” to him and asks that everything not turn into a “circle” against his niece. She also admits that José María sometimes feels like she doesn’t defend him enough, although she emphasizes that if anyone was always on his side, it was her, “even if she had problems with him.”
The employee explained that the core of her son’s message was simple: To solve a problem, you first have to know what the problem is. According to his statements, neither he nor his cousin are clear about the specific reason for the estrangement, and one cannot speak of a fight as such, but rather of a relationship that has cooled until it disappears. She recalled that their relationship was normal when they both worked in television and that they often wrote to each other, which she discovered when her son was already having a difficult time. That’s why he insisted that he experience this story not as simple content for the audience, but as a theme that he takes home with him and that makes him suffer.
The show also echoed Terelu’s words in “On Friday,” in which the presenter made it clear that she had no plans to confront her daughter on the matter. Faced with this situation, Carmen has stated that she has never asked her sister to take a stand against Alejandra and that she will not do so. He recalled that when he made a mistake, he publicly asked for forgiveness and wanted to emphasize that he had never heard José María speak badly about his cousins or his aunt, even in the most difficult moments between them. Regarding his niece, he has explained that he does not have a personal problem and that he only asked that if there was an accusation, he would tell her directly.
Carmen has admitted that she made the mistake of speaking about Alejandra in the past, which is why she has already apologized and promised not to enter this field again. He emphasized that he respected her “just as much as his sister” and had no intention of fueling the conflict further. At the same time, he highlighted Terelu’s behavior towards her children, ensuring that she behaved “extraordinarily” towards both José María and his daughter. What’s surprising to him now is that there was never a relationship between the cousins, because he always defended that the bond was good despite the age difference.
The last part of her post raised the possibility that Alejandra’s distancing has to do with her cousin’s media presence and fear that he will talk about private matters on television, to the point that he has not yet introduced her to her son. This insinuation particularly bothered the talk show host, who replied that José María doesn’t even talk about his own child and would therefore talk even less about his cousin’s. Finally, he wanted to make it clear that he supports his sister, supports his son and, according to himself, has no problems with his niece, and expressed his hope that the conflict between the two young people will be resolved and the family can find peace again.
