The Minister of Management and Innovation in Public Services, Esther Dweck, said this Monday (15) that, although the external environment is difficult, Brazil is expected to have a stronger economy in 2026. Participating in an event of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), the minister listed the factors that are expected to contribute to growth next year.
“The external environment remains difficult, with threats from countries fighting for hegemony. We hope that next year the Brazilian economy will come back stronger. In addition to the equation with the United States, we will also have a drop in interest rates, which tends to happen soon. These factors should lead the economy to accelerate in 2026,” Dweck said.
According to the minister, public companies saw their net profits increase. “SOEs increased from BRL 59.8 billion in the first half of 2024 to BRL 92.4 billion in the same period in 2025.”
Dweck said he did not rule out problems at Brazil’s state-owned companies, as well as private companies, but he said the companies are “doing very well.”
