
This weekend the president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo visited the facilities of Child Care and Education Center (Ceci)Ciudad Juarez, in Chihuahua.
During his press conference this Monday, December 15, he announced that Ceci was born following the request of women workers in the maquila to “set up daycare centers so that they can leave their children behind”.
He pointed out that this was the main demand at the meetings Ciudad Juarezwhich led to the transformation of the traditional day care system into a new model focused on child care and development
In collaboration with Zoe RobledoDirector of Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS)designed a strategy that consists of transforming the traditional concept of daycare centers.
“We don’t want to call them daycare centers anymore because daycare centers are the old vision of child care,” he explained. The new proposal aims at consolidation Educational and daycare centerswith a model developed by IMSS.

The President explained that the model of the Child care and education centers There are “less administrative staff, more educators and a model that promotes the development of babies from the first months”.
For the status of Chihuahuas The plan is to open 50 centers and establish them on a national level 1,000 early childhood education and care centers.
Claudia Sheinbaum explained that the center in Ciudad Juarez will have a capacity of 250 childrencovers the stage of 45 days from birth to four years of age.

Regarding the architectural space, Sheinbaum shared that the Chihuahua unit is designed for supervision and integration: “There is a central garden and the classrooms are arranged around the garden so educators can see all the classrooms.”
Additionally, the president shared that they are working with the community from Ciudad Juarez so that the working women “Those who do not have social security can leave their children in these centers,” since the municipality would be the one to cover the costs of the service in advance IMSS and thus take care of them childhoods.
The President explained that this initiative is part of building a Care system where the state takes responsibility for the well-being of the people Mexican childhood.
The goal is: “Allow women to work or develop, and don’t burden them with care so we can help them.”Sheinbaum Pardo said.
