The Environmental Preservation Tax (TPA) that would be charged this Thursday (12/18), in Ilhabela, on the north coast of São Paulo, was suspended by decision of the State Audit Court (TCE), after representations that highlighted alleged irregularities in the tender process. The auction included the hiring of a company responsible for implementing, maintaining and managing an integrated virtual payments solution.
In a note, the Municipality of Ilhabela informed that it “chose to revoke the tender with the aim of making the necessary adjustments to the notice in order to allow the implementation of the fee during the 2025/2026 summer season”.
The revocation deadline was published in the Municipality’s Official Journal on November 19 and the call for tenders for hiring the company responsible for collection will open this Thursday (12/18). The start of the tariff therefore does not yet have a defined date.
