Correctional Court No. 4 of La Plata sentenced kinesiologist Matías Adrian Blanco to three years and four months in prison, who was convicted of sexually assaulting three women he treated in his office in the city of Canuelas. The ruling also stipulated his special and permanent ban from practicing the profession.
The decision, signed by Judge Claudia Greco on November 10, 2025, considered the events that occurred between 2019 and 2021 established, and stressed the danger of abuse of power and trust in the therapeutic bond. In her ruling, the judge considered that the victims’ accounts were “coherent, consistent and free of contradictions,” and that they remained consistent throughout the judicial process.
Psychological reports and testimonies from relatives strengthened the credibility of the complainants, by taking into account the emotional impact and behavioral changes that followed the attacks. The judge also highlighted that the three women did not know each other, which, in her opinion, eliminated any possibility of a coordinated or false complaint.
During the trial, Blanco denied the accusations and asserted that the alleged contact may have been due to therapeutic maneuvers. However, the court rejected his defense and considered a proven repeated pattern of behavior, in which the accused took advantage of his professional position to violate the privacy of his patients.
Although the prosecution requested his immediate arrest, the court decided to keep him free until the final ruling was issued. The judge assessed the professional status of the convicted person, the multiple victims and the psychological damage suffered as aggravating factors. With this ruling, the Ministry of Justice of La Plata once again focuses on the ethical responsibility of health professionals and the protection of trust in the therapeutic field.
