The agreement took place during the meeting with the leaders of the Chamber of Deputies
BRASÍLIA – The votes on the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) of Public Security and on the anti-faction bill in the Chamber of Deputies have been postponed until next year, party leaders informed after a meeting with the President of the Chamber, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), this Monday 15.
According to the leader of the PL in the House, Sóstenes Cavalcante (RJ), the postponement of the agenda to 2026 was done by agreement.
The leaders highlighted the points on the agenda of the week, such as the vote on the bill reducing tax exemptions, scheduled for Tuesday 16. The tax reform project could be debated this Monday, with the leader of the PT, Lindbergh Farias, highlighting the various modifications made to the text by the rapporteur, Mauro Benevides (PDT-CE).
Regarding the vote on resignations, Lindbergh stressed that it is not possible to vote on the budget – whose analysis is scheduled for Thursday – with a “hole” of 20 billion reais, which corresponds to the size of the revenues estimated with the approval of the tax benefits project.
According to Lindbergh, no item on the week’s agenda would “lead to major discussions.” He and Sóstenes stressed that the meeting did not discuss the vote on the impeachment of MP Alexandre Ramagem, which could take place this week. According to the head of government, the meeting “focused on important themes in the country.”
