The journalist Mauricio Kubruslyaged 80, is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Itabuna Hospital, located in the south of Bahia, after suffering a fall, according to information published this Monday (15) by the hospital’s press office and published by the G1 Bahia portal. The veteran journalist’s situation has caused great concern among his friends, professional colleagues and admirers of his career which spans more than four decades.
According to the hospital, Kubrusly was admitted to intensive care on Sunday (14) and later underwent a medical procedure to remove a hematoma. The institution, however, chose not to provide further details on the journalist’s state of health or his clinical evolution over the last 24 hours. The hospital stressed that the case was being closely monitored by the medical team and that the patient’s condition would be constantly reassessed.
Maurício Kubrusly is an emblematic figure of Brazilian journalism, with a well-established career at TV Globo since the 1980s. He particularly stood out with the painting “Me Leva, Brasil”, exhibited on Fantasticwhere he traveled to different regions of Brazil, interviewing people and bringing new and exciting stories to the public.
