Chapecoense presented this Monday the number one jersey for the 2026 season. The new uniform has a strong symbolic meaning since it pays homage to Atlético Nacional, of Colombiaand to the victims of the 2016 plane crash, the tragedy of which will celebrate its tenth anniversary next year.
One of the main visual novelties of the jersey is the return of the green and white vertical stripes on the main jersey, something that has not happened since the 1970s. The official launch took place during a rehearsal featuring Little childformer defender of the Chape and one of the survivors of the accident.
According to the club, the uniform goes beyond the sporting aspect and represents a gesture of gratitude. In an official note, Chapecoense highlighted the role of Atlético Nacional in the reconstruction process experienced after the tragedy.

The shirt bears three special commemorative stamps. On the lower bar, a seal symbolizes respect and permanent remembrance. On the back, near the collar, the inscription “We remember forever” pays tribute to the victims of the 2016 accident. Inside the collar, the phrase “There are more than 11 of us” reinforces the idea of unity and community which marks the history of the club.
According to Chapecoense, the uniform represents “unity, respect and gratitude”connecting the past, present and future in a season marked by the memory and identity of Verdão do Oeste.
