The early calling of elections in Aragon consolidates the autonomous commitment of the Popular Party to win the struggles in which it was challenged by the PSOE and Vox. The socialists, with Minister Pilar Alegría as candidate, made President Azcón a … implausible offer to negotiate regional budgets, with the real aim of buying time for Sánchez and avoiding a chain of electoral setbacks, the first in Extremadura and the next, in Aragon. In the case of Vox, its opposition to the PP reproduces the same strategy as in other regions: obtaining all the advantages of influence and none of the disadvantages of government. When those of Santiago Abascal decided to break their regional government pacts under the pretext of preventing the arrival of foreign miners, it turned out that Vox was mainly attracted by the goal of becoming an alternative to the PP as leader of the Spanish right. After Extremadura, Aragon will give voters a new opportunity this Sunday, February 8, to define the type of change they expect.
