The US military announced an attack on three ships suspected of being loaded with drugs in the Eastern Pacific, killing eight people on Monday.

“Intelligence services have confirmed that the ships They used routes known for drug trafficking in the Eastern Pacific. and were involved in drug trafficking activities,” the US Southern Command said in a publication in X.

The army added that “a total of eight narcoterrorists died during these actions: three in the first boat, two in the second and three in the third.”
The Southern Command media post includes video footage ofe three separate boats floating in the water before each was hit by the attacks.
The bombings were accompanied by a massive US military deployment in the Caribbean, including the world’s largest aircraft carrier and a series of warships.
US President Donald Trump insists the aim is to combat drug trafficking, while his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolás Maduro says it is a pretext for regime change in Caracas.
