Actor Claudio Cinti talks about his recovery from a kidney transplant, one year after a very serious health problem

A little over a year after facing serious health problems, including pneumonia and sepsis (serious generalized infection), Claudio Cinti underwent a kidney transplant on Friday (12).

— It was something miraculous. There are people who spend years waiting for a compatible organ. In my case, it was very quick. By August, I was ready to have the transplant. I have the feeling of being reborn, of being able to resume my normal life. I’m 60 years old, I’m still at a productive age. I must emphasize that I did everything for the SUS – comments Cinti, who remains in the hospital recovering. According to doctors, this period can vary between 15 and 30 days.

He, who is also an actor and taxi driver, says his professional routine was quite limited due to hemodialysis sessions.

— I was hemodialyzed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This left my schedule completely limited. In the taxi, I worked Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. As an actor, I couldn’t take a longer trip. Now I want to be able to return to my normal routine as quickly as possible.

However, after being released, Cinti will still have to rest at home for up to three months. For this reason, he launched an online appeal asking for donations.

— I won’t be able to drive any time soon. And I need to survive. I therefore pass it on here to you who are friends, parents and others.
