Mr. Andrés Edgardo Vázquez will take over as new executive director of the Customs Collection and Control Agency (ARCA) starting next Thursday, December 18, replacing Juan Alberto Pazo, as published today in the Official Journal.
Decree 890/2025, signed by President Javier Milei and Minister of Economy Luis Caputo, accepts the resignations of Pazo from the position of Executive Director of ARCA and of Vázquez from the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI), both with effect from December 18.
The same administrative act formalizes the appointment of Vázquez as the new head of the debt collection agency to complete a legal deadline. The Standard would like to thank the retiring officers for their achievements in carrying out their respective positions.
The aim of the leadership change is to ensure the organization’s institutional continuity in customs collection, inspection and control tasks across the country.
ARCA and the change of ownership
ARCA is the autonomous unit that operates within the purview of the Ministry of Economy and is responsible for collecting national taxes and customs controls. Vázquez served as DGI’s general director since ARCA’s inception, replacing the former AFIP.
The change in management of the debt collection agency comes at the end of the financial year and a few days before the holidays, a period of high activity in both tax matters and foreign trade.
