An 80-year-old woman was found dead in her own residence in the community of São Joaquim, rural area of Januária, north of Minas Gerais (MG). The body was located this Sunday (16/12).
In the column, the Civil Police reports that the Military Police were called after residents of the neighborhood reported hearing screams coming from the victim’s house in the early hours of Saturday (13/12). Faced with the disappearance of the elderly woman throughout the day, people decided to call the authorities.

On site, the police found signs of a break-in, in addition to the disappearance of a television and a sum of R$2,000. The victim was already lifeless and bleeding from the mouth. Experts also identified several traces of blood spread throughout the rooms of the residence.
As the column determined, the woman lived alone, but had the company of a brother who lived next door. On Saturday (13), however, he was away attending the funeral of a family member. When he returned, he found his sister dead.
Residents interviewed by civil police reported that the victim often said he kept money at home.
Investigations were carried out in the area, but, until this article was last updated, no suspects had been identified. The body was sent to the Forensic Institute (IML) in January and the case is still under investigation.
