Internacional is eliminated from the São Paulo Women’s Cup 2025. Tuesday evening (16), at the Canindé Stadium, in São Paulo, the Gurias Coloradas were beaten by Flamengo 2-1, by surprise, in the semi-final of the competition.
Inter took the lead 10 minutes into the second half, when Joana received a pass from Aninha and fired accurately to open the scoring. The advantage, however, only lasted 15 minutes. Flamengo reacted quickly and counted on the genius of Brendha, who scored twice, in the 25th and 29th minutes, to secure the red-black classification for the decision. The number 9 of the Rio team consolidated himself as the competition’s top scorer, with 8 goals.
With this result, Flamengo advances to the final of the Copa São Paulo Feminina 2025, where they will face Grêmio. The big decision is scheduled for Saturday, December 20 at the Pacaembu Stadium, with a date yet to be confirmed by the São Paulo Football Federation.
Internacional reached the top four teams in the Copa São Paulo Feminina for the third time in three editions. In 2024, Gurias Coloradas were runners-up, when they lost the title to Fluminense on penalties. In 2023, in the first contested edition, the Rio Grande do Sul team was eliminated precisely by Flamengo.
