The Department of Education of the Federal District (SEEDF) will launch, in 2026, a public competition with more than 10,000 vacancies. The competition has already been authorized by the Secretariat of the DF Economy and it is estimated that the notice will be published by the end of the first half of 2026.
At Metropolises The SEEDF clarified that a total of 10,604 effective vacancies will be offered, including 2,650 immediate vacancies and 7,954 vacancies for reserve registration for basic education teacher, counselor and career in public policy and education management positions. “The Department of Education of the Federal District (SEEDF) informs that after authorization for the holding of its next competition by the Department of Economy, several internal procedures must be completed before the publication of the notice. The estimate is that the document will be published by the end of the first semester of next year,” the note said.

The public competition is part of the agreement to end the teachers’ strike that began in June this year in the Federal District.
The agreement to end the strike also included a request to extend the public tender. In July, the extension of the competition for Public Teaching and Educational Assistance positions within the DF was approved. Another part of the agreement provides for the appointment of new employees in 2026. As reported in the Grande Angular column, 3,000 teachers will be appointed by December 2025.
