The Federal Police (PF) arrested, this Tuesday morning (12/16), a 40-year-old teacher sentenced to 20 years in prison for rape of a vulnerable person. The capture took place in the municipality of José Boiteux, in the interior of Santa Catarina, with the support of the military and civil police of the state.
The man worked as a teacher in a school located on a native reserve in the region. Indigenous and resident of the reservation itself, he was the subject of an arrest warrant after a final conviction for the crime committed against his ex-daughter-in-law, while he lived in Chapecó, west of Santa Catarina.

According to the sentence, the abuse took place when the victim was still a minor. The sentence established was 20 years’ imprisonment, to be served in closed regime.
After his arrest, the convict was sent to the Regional Prison of Rio do Sul, where he will remain at the disposal of Justice.
