Vehicle production remains stable in November with a slight increase of 0.8% compared to November 2024, with 216,528 units produced.
With this new record, the units produced until November represent a total of 2,129,781 vehicles, … 4.8% less than that accumulated during the same period of 2024.
As a result, annual production is expected to close with a significantly lower volume at 2.3 million vehicles, which could represent a decline of almost 5% compared to 2024.
According to the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (Anfac), as in previous months, the adaptation of factories to the manufacture of new electrified models, as well as low demand from Europe are the main causes of these figures.
For José López-Tafall, general director of Anfac, “the production data for the month of November remains at similar levels to last yearbut we must not lose sight of the fact that this is happening in relation to a negative month in 2024. In other words, activity is being maintained, but on a low base. The pace of the month of November is conditioned by the process of adaptation of factories to the production of electrified vehicles and by insufficient demand from the main European markets.
By vehicle type, 172,526 passenger cars were manufactured, 1.3% less than in November 2024, while light and commercial vehicles recorded an increase of 9.6%, with 44,002 units produced.
Production by energy source
Analyzing vehicle production by energy source, we see that alternative vehicles (natural gas, conventional hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles) totaled 91,977 units, an increase of 30.1% and 42.5% of the total production of the month.
Until the penultimate month of 2025, a total of 825,787 alternative vehicles have been accumulated, representing an increase of 26.7% compared to the same period of 2024 and a share of 38.8% of the total production.
Concerning electrified vehiclesSpanish factories produced 20,588 units during the month of November, or 83.6% more than the same month in 2024, which represents almost one vehicle assembled in 10. For its part, the annual cumulative figure grew by 10.1% to reach 210,134 units. This represents a 9.9% share of the total manufacturing sector, 1.3 percentage points higher than the same period of the previous year. The production of plug-in hybrids stands out, increasing its production by 35.9% compared to 2024.
Concerning exports, November once again recorded a further decline, with 185,135 units, or 2.1% less than the same month of the previous year. In total annually, 1,824,814 vehicles were exported, or 8.2% less than during the same period of 2024.
By export destinations, the percentage of vehicles destined for Europe It represented 91.2% of total production, or 3.1 percentage points less than in November 2024. Conversely, markets such as Africa, America and Oceania saw their share increase, with growth in imported volume of 3.9%, 2.6% and 0.6% respectively.
