The journalist, who was admitted in delicate condition to the intensive care unit of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia Hospital in Itabuna, in Bahia, left the hospital unit and is currently convalescing outside the intensive care unit. The information was publicly disclosed by his wife, the architect Ana Beatriz Goulartwho wanted to reassure the public and thank the medical team responsible for the care.
In a statement posted on the hospital’s social media channels, Ana Beatriz Goulart explained the reason for the hospitalization and described the moment of relief the family felt after his medical release. According to her, “I am Maurício’s wife. He was admitted here urgently. He had a subdural hematoma and I wanted to thank the hospital. Today we were discharged”. The statement highlights not only the initial severity of the illness, but also the importance of a rapid response from the healthcare team.
