Influencer reveals she decided to stay single after appearing on reality show and having relationship controversies
Carole Lekkerinfluencer known for participating in the reality show The Farm 17from Record, spoke about the end of his relationship with the businessman Maik Riksen. Last week, Fábia Oliveira’s column exclusively revealed that the breakup was motivated by controversial statements by the former Miss Bumbum.
This Wednesday (12/17), Carol participated in the Link to podcast alongside other former participants of the rural reality show. During the conversation, she explained that she had planned her marriage to the Dutch businessman, but chose to remain single to take advantage of the opportunities that arose after participating in the program.
“The fact is that when we were confined there, the man came down, came to Brazil, bought flowers, brought a ring, did everything, because there was a wedding that was going to take place. But that wedding did not take place because I was invited to A Fazenda 17 and I prioritized the F17 rather than a wedding,” Carol said.
She also confirmed that the controversies influenced the ending: “When I got there, with my speeches, everything that happened, but I honored him, I said there was someone, I could have kept quiet. When I left, I talked to my family and my family said to me: ‘Look, we think it’s better for you to be alone, give yourself some time’.”
On the reality show, Carol faced backlash for some statements, including comments about treating “men like dogs” and a controversial speech involving her 4-year-old stepson that even drew public criticism.
She explained that the focus is now on her career: “And I actually thought, ‘Why would I want a relationship now?’ I have to prioritize this here, I always dreamed of this here, what I wanted most in life. But it hurt me a lot, it was a dream that left wounds, marks, but I need to live and enjoy it.”
