The magistrate Juan Carlos Peinado, who is investigating Begoña Gómez, wife of the president of the government, agreed to file a complaint against the government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, after the Provincial Court of Madrid ordered it after understanding that he could not … his charge for misappropriation of public funds is upheld.
Peinado accepted his accusation after admitting a complaint from Vox, knowing that from his previous position at the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Government, he must have known, controlled and allowed Begoña Gómez’s assistant, Cristina Álvarez, to carry out work for the private companies of Pedro Sánchez’s wife.
However, in the order of the Provincial Court, published on December 4, the magistrates understood that the political party’s complaint was based on “mere hypotheses” and that, after analyzing the facts, “it does not find reason to direct” the case against Martín because Vox did not provide “the slightest indication that the aforementioned position has this alleged control function” or supervision of the work of said position of trust.
