ABC Cultural is taking a step to improve the list of best-selling books. The supplement said GfK (Growth from Knowledge) —leading market research company, the world’s leading provider of data and analytics for the consumer goods industry— … This weekly sampling reflects the true “ranking” of the ten best-selling titles in Spain, in the areas of fiction, non-fiction and children and youth. The monitoring extrapolated weekly by GfK is the best audit available on the market and is prepared from sales recorded at more than 1,300 points. These 1,300 points of sale are grouped across three channels – bookstores, department stores and online sales – and are considered to cover 90% of the market.
Inside 1st place, “Reconciliation” (Planeta), the controversial memoirs of King Emeritus Juan Carlos I. In the 2nd prize, “Cooking for everyone” (Planet). Media chef Karlos Arguiñano offers us a new recipe book, with 560 dishes, for success in the kitchen. He 3rd place keeps him busy “The society of fatigue” (Herder) by Byung-Chul Han. In his most emblematic book, the North Korean philosopher, Princess of Asturias Prize for Communication and Human Sciences 2025, explores many issues that mark Western societies today.
In the post 4th, “It doesn’t exist” (Debate). Juan Soto Ivars dares to tackle a thorny issue such as that of false complaints concerning gender-based violence, by offering a critical look at the law against gender-based violence. Inside 5th place we found’The man in search of meaning (Herder), by Viktor E. Frankl. A classic, in which the Austrian psychiatrist recounts his own experience in a concentration camp, seen from the inside, and his discovery of the power of logotherapy in the face of adversity.
He 6th place keeps him busyThe day after the conquest (The sphere of books). Mexican historian Juan Miguel Zunzunegui dismantles the clichés and rigorously argues against the Black Legend. Inside position 7, “Destroy this newspaper.” Now the revolution is in color (Paidos), by Keri Smith.
