Broadcaster and journalist Carme Chaparro (Salamanca, 52) continues to deal with an illness that, although she has not specified what, doctors have warned her of is a high risk of something very serious happening. An illness that kept her away from television for several months and led her to fall into a very dark place, as she recently told the newspaper El País, on which she worked a lot with the help of a psychiatrist and a psychiatrist. What he shared is that he underwent two surgeries in a span of less than 15 days.
On his Instagram profile, where he has more than 175,000 followers, on Wednesday he posted a video of his arm with an IV in bed. From the hospital. “Two difficult steps through the operating room in a few days. Two long and complicated stays in the area (resuscitation unit)… but always the smile, the caresses, the sleepless nights and the care of the health workers who leave their souls, their skin and their well-being to make us heal even when our souls want to go,” he shares in his message.
He also benefits from it mail To make an appeal in favor of public health, and why he did not post on social networks for almost two weeks: “Already at the factory. I have opened my cell phone for a long time and I have many loving messages. But I am without screens due to medical advice and some pain I am experiencing. I will tell you. Another day. One less day. I will be back. Public health!!!!! And sorry for not responding. Not even on WhatsApp.”
The last post before this video on his Instagram account is specifically a photo of his arm with an audio clip published on October 30, the day of his first intervention. He wrote at the time: “Another day. And one less day.”
On October 14, Chaparro made an offer revenge (Espasa), a novel stir Which addresses the dark side of media. Two weeks ago, in conversation with EL PAÍS on the occasion of publication, He opened up about his illness. “Seeing myself at home, sick, receiving intensive treatment, not doing the work I love, made me fall into a very dark hole, a place I didn’t remember being in and I got out of it thanks to God. Well, not to God, because I don’t believe. It’s depressing that they see life in black and white and that they can’t even go to the bathroom when I pee there.”
The illness did not allow him to do one of the things he loved most: writing. But Chaparro explained that his dismissal is only temporary and that after his rehabilitation he will return to work. She said in the interview: “This makes me angry because writing for me is therapy. It makes me angry that I was treated so badly and so sad and was not able to use writing as an oxygen tank.” He added: “TV is wonderful and I love it. I dream of returning.”
