Actor Zachary Ty Bryan was arrested after being accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend and threatening to kill her in July this year. Known for his role as Brad Taylor on the series Home Improvement (1991-1999), this is not the first accusation of violence that Zachary has faced. In the past five years, he has accumulated four similar incidents.
According to TMZ, the victim, whose name has not been released, told police how the situation unfolded on the day of the attacks, July 3. The incident could have happened after she bit the actor’s nipple as a joke, while the couple was lying down.
The woman also stated that the actor threatened to kill her days after the attack during a new quarrel. Brian reportedly said: “Shut up or I’ll shut up for you.” His words were included in the lawsuit filed by the woman.
The woman’s accusations also include abusing the couple’s dog. Zachary allegedly threw bleach in the animal’s face in June, a month before the attack.
The court ordered a five-year restraining order, effective until September 2030, requiring Brian to maintain a distance of at least 100 meters from his ex-girlfriend.
This was not the first accusation of violence that Zachery has faced. In the past five years, he has accumulated four similar incidents. The actor’s defense did not comment on the new accusations.
Complaints against Zakaria
In January 2025, Zachary was arrested in South Carolina on charges of assaulting, strangling, and threatening to kill another woman. In July 2023, he was also arrested on domestic violence charges, according to The Hollywood Reporter at the time.
The first case reportedly occurred in 2020, when Brian was accused of choking and assaulting his then-girlfriend. At that time, the victim reported that the actor took her cell phone to prevent her from calling the police.
The actor ended up pleading guilty in 2021 and was sentenced to three years of probation, in addition to being required to participate in a rehabilitation program for batterers. In addition to the violence accusations, the actor ran into trouble with the law in 2024, when he was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
