Federal deputy Carlos Jordy (PL-RJ) spoke this Friday (12/19) about Operation Galho Fraco, which aims to deepen investigations into the misappropriation of public resources arising from parliamentary quotas. Watch the video:
In a video posted on social networks, the parliamentarian said he was the target of a search and seizure warrant carried out by the PF in the early morning, on the date he said was his daughter’s birthday. Jordy called this action “cowardly” and claimed that operations of this type had taken place on other symbolic dates for the family.
The MP also mentions an operation carried out in January 2024, on his mother’s birthday, linked to the investigations into the events of January 8. “On January 18, 2024, they carried out a search and seizure at my house, my mother even slept here, it was my mother’s birthday, claiming that I played a role in January 8. They took a fake photo, which was actually a photo of a person in Bolsonaro’s possession and they said it was from January 8,” he reports.
Regarding the accusations discovered this Friday (12/19), in Operation Galho Fraco, the parliamentarian denied the irregularities and stated that, since the beginning of his first term, he had used a car rental company to meet the demands of the Government of Brasilia.
“This is a cowardly search and seizure, claiming that I had diverted resources from the parliamentary quota to a front company that rents cars, since it is the same company from which I have been renting cars since the beginning of my first mandate. Their allegation is crude,” says Carlos Jordy.
Jordy added that the arrest warrants were served at the parents’ home. “Two elderly gentlemen, two elderly people, but we are not going to let ourselves be intimidated, I am not going to bow my head to this cowardice. This, for me, will be another instrument of encouragement to confront this tyranny, this dictatorship of the Judicial Power, which persecutes its adversaries using the apparatus of Justice,” he laments.
Low Branch Operation
Besides Jordy, another target of searches and seizures is federal deputy Sóstenes Cavalcante (PL-RJ).
The PF executed seven search and seizure warrants issued by the Supreme Federal Court (STF), in the Federal District and in Rio de Janeiro.
The PL parliamentarians had their cell phones seized during the operation. A large amount of money was also collected, including R$430,000 from Sóstenes.
