The doctor points out common medications that can harm the liver
What many people may not know is that protein deficiency can play a crucial role in the accumulation of fat in the liver. When protein deficiency reaches more serious levels, the body begins to “feed” on its own tissues to obtain the necessary amino acids. This can cause changes in the liver and hormonal balance.
“The liver tends to accumulate fat, as a lack of protein affects the transport of fat, leading to fatty degeneration of the liver,” explains nutritionist and Master of Nutrition Ana Cristina Gutierrez.

“Since many of these signs are not limited to protein deficiency, it is necessary to get a professional evaluation from a nutritionist or doctor. The specialist will analyze your condition and, if necessary, adjust the diet or even recommend the use of protein supplements, such as whey protein, to balance the intake of nutrients,” adds the nutritionist.
