“The only thing I can say to Mr. Núñez is that every time he went to the polls he got a resounding defeat against President Page“. With these words, the regional deputy of the PSOE Álvaro Toconar responded to this question … Friday to the statements of the president of the PP of Castilla-La Mancha, Paco Núñez, in which he assured that “the general collapse of the PSOE” would bring Page to Castilla-La Mancha in 2027.
Toconar criticized the “tour” that, according to him, Núñez is doing to justify his leadership and his “desire to gain power.” “It’s crazy to have a small bag”“, he said, before wondering if the popular leader extrapolates to Castile-La Mancha the electoral results that the PP could obtain in other territories. In this sense, he invited him to reflect on “the reasons why the Popular Party obtained good results in recent elections”, except in those in which it appears“.
The socialist leader also joked about the confidence of the regional leader of the PP in the polls, inviting him to have “a lot of confidence” and to continue fighting. so that they “give him face”because, according to him, “this is the only thing he has achieved since 2018”.
In another order of things, Toconar accuses Nuñez of not taking a stand on “corruption” which, as he pointed out, reaches Vox through its youth organization Revuelta, hiding behind the fact that it is a national matter. “Could it be that for Mr. Núñez Santos Cerdán he is little more than a resident of Almansa and that is why he is taking a stand on the issue?” he asked. According to him, “We are trying to lie and spread hoaxes about President Page and when we have to establish our own position to condemn the corruption that their government partners practice in municipal councils and in autonomous communities, it turns out that it is now a subject of national debate.
“Núñez, in the hands of Vox”
The socialist deputy criticized the leader of the PP “stands in profile” when we know that the leaders of Vox “asked young people for money during the dana for Mira and Letur, simply to steal”, and he assured that this attitude shows that Núñez’s political project “is closely linked to Vox’s guidelines”specifically “to the directives of Mr. David Moreno.”
Finally, and in the face of criticism of the PP in terms of health, Toconar defended the management of the regional government over the last ten yearsemphasizing that investments in health have increased by 70% and that there are 12,000 more professionals, compared to the time of the PP and María Dolores de Cospedal, when, as he recalled, “they threw 3,000 into the street.”
“I do not believe that Mr. Núñez is here to give us lessons in health matters while “He uses health professionals to try to obtain votes,” Toconar pointed out. According to him, “it is not normal for someone to harshly criticize an autonomous community which increases every day the resources allocated to public health in Castilla-La Mancha” while “we say in the media, as we said a few years ago, that He has always defended private management of health care», giving the example of Madrid and Andalusia.
Finally, Toconar also does not understand the “inconsistency” of Núñez’s PP with regional budgets of the Council for 2026, which he defended as a project “clearly structured and very well worked by the Government of Castile-La Mancha”.
Faced with this, “we found amendments from the PP that throw all this to the ground”, he criticized, because “the same Paco Núñez who publicly asks to engage in the construction of housing for young people, is the same Paco Núñez who in his amendments leaves at zero all budget items allocated by the Government of Castile-La Mancha to build housing for young people“.
