Vasco midfielder Mateus Carvalho has been diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, in addition to injuries to his meniscus and collateral ligaments. The club have confirmed that the player will have to undergo surgery, with no date yet.
The injury occurred during the warm-up of the first leg of the Brazilian Cup final, against Corinthians, on Wednesday (17/12). During an activity, one of the athlete’s feet got stuck on the lawn, while the other kept moving. He left the field supported by the medical team, visibly shaken.
