A study by Ativaweb DataLab showed a predominance of sentiments on social networks in favor of the dismissals of Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ), decided by the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies this Thursday (19). The analysis located 2,456,711 publications on the topic.

According to the study, it was Eduardo Bolsonaro who concentrated the greatest symbolic wear in the debate. More than half of those mentioned (51.3%) assessed the loss of mandate positively, associating the decision with ideas such as “justice done”, “delayed punishment” and “institutional correction”. 13.4% were informative or neutral in nature, while 35.3% were against the revocation, in speeches evoking political persecution and criticism of the judiciary.
The study highlights that, despite the presence of an organized ideological defense, the dominant discourse on the networks was not that of institutional conflict, but of validation of punishment. Expressions such as “it took time, but it happened”, “a salary without working” and “the victory of democracy” constituted the main “clusters” (user groups, profiles or communities sharing characteristics on the networks) of the debate, accompanied by “irony” and “political mockery”, elements which, according to the study, make it difficult to reverse the image in the short term.
In the case of Alexandre Ramagem, sentenced to 16 years in prison in a coup attempt case, the numerical impact was more limited. Mentions of Abin’s former director were less voluminous and were mostly framed in the legal field, with a critical or informative tone. The study indicates that Ramagem did not become the emotional center of the episode, functioning as a secondary character in a largely polarized debate around Eduardo Bolsonaro.
The asymmetry of wear also appears in the reputational risk rankings established by Ativaweb. Eduardo Bolsonaro appears as the only actor classified as “very high” risk, while Ramagem appears at an intermediate level. The assessment is that the episode goes beyond individuals and extends the symbolic erosion of Bolsonarism as a political field in the digital environment.
“When the punishment stops arousing debate and begins to arouse celebration, the judgment has already been made by the digital environment,” affirms the study, which underlines the narrative crystallization and the very low capacity to overthrow Eduardo Bolsonaro in the short term.
At the end of the episode, the analysis also finds that the Speaker of the House, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), was not captured by polarization. With a predominance of positive and neutral mentions, its achievement was perceived as technical and institutional, associated with respect for the Constitution and legal rite.
“Moderate and controllable risk, with an institutional image preserved in the short term,” underlines AtivaWeb.
The survey was carried out by Ativaweb DataLab through Big Data monitoring, with automated data collection via APIs and semantic analysis in public posts on Facebook, Instagram, X and TikTok. The methodology included the classification of sentiments (positive, neutral and negative), the identification of narrative groups and the qualitative analysis of organic engagement, making it possible to map not only the volume of mentions, but also the structure of the debate, the activated emotions and the consolidation of narratives in the digital environment in the 24 hours following the decision of the Board of Directors of the Chamber.
