New conviction for drug trafficking:
- The operation carried out in February this year aimed to dismantle a drug trafficking network that operated through a distributor known as “Corujão”.
- At the time, the defendant, owner of the distributor, had revealed details about his criminal trajectory and how the scheme worked.
- The owner of “Corujão” admitted that he initially opened the place to sell drinks, but when faced with financial difficulties, he started selling illicit drugs.
- According to the accused, his involvement in drug trafficking began in 2023, when he was 19 years old, and this activity brought him monthly profits of approximately R$10,000.
- At first, the accused denied the participation of his brother, William Silva, in the trafficking. However, subsequent investigations proved William’s involvement in the criminal organization.
- In addition, the investigation revealed the participation of William’s mother, as well as his brother, owner of the distributor “Corujão”, and his girlfriend, in the criminal case.
Drug trafficking in “Corujão”
Despite the silence of some defendants and the denials of others, evidence collected during the investigation, including suspicious banking transactions and drug seizures, indicates that all defendants actively participated in the criminal organization focused on drug trafficking. The police operation also revealed that the “Corujão” distributor was used as a point of sale and storage of narcotics, with the collaboration of several actors sharing specific functions in the project, such as the transport and distribution of drugs.
The continuity of investigations and interrogations of the accused testifies to the complexity of the criminal network, with the involvement of family members and relatives of the accused, who proclaim their innocence or their lack of knowledge of the illicit activities. The defense of all the accused sought to exonerate them from any responsibility, citing various justifications, such as lack of knowledge of the origin of the financial transactions or casual involvement in the location of the trafficking.
Conviction for drug trafficking
The public prosecutor charged the man on the basis of articles 33 and 35 of law no. 11.343/2006 (trafficking and association for trafficking) and article 1 of law no. 9.613/1998 (money laundering), and the request was accepted by the judge.
Death of a decapitated teenager
On April 30, William was arrested for ordering the death of Samuel Soares Marques, who had his throat slit and his mother cut. The murder took place a month before he was arrested on drug charges and released. The new capture is the result of a thorough investigation by the 26th Police Station (Samambaia Norte).
After investigation, agents located William Miranda in a residence in the municipality of Águas Lindas de Goiás, on the outskirts of the Federal District. He already had a preventive arrest warrant in force.
Understanding the teenager’s murder:
- Samuel’s body was found in a grove on January 7 in Córrego do Jacaré, Samambaia (DF);
- The student had his hand cut off, his neck cut, in addition to being stabbed 32 times;
- Colleagues and relatives of Samuel described him as “funny, kind and outgoing”;
- The 26th DP investigated the case and on January 11 arrested a person involved, who confessed to participating in the brutal murder of the young man and gave details of the crime.
Civil police found that just over a year ago the teenager began helping CDC members in drug trafficking, working in sales outlets and replacing other members of the faction when necessary.
William, arrested in April this year, was the latest Operation Redemption fugitive, wanted for taking part in the teenager’s brutal execution. The motivation for the crime would be the alleged embezzlement of money from drug trafficking operated by the faction.
The other two suspects, Ruan Felipe Barbosa Oliveira, 20, known as “Zaroio,” and Mateus Cruz Souza, 21, known as “Suetam,” were arrested about three months ago.

William’s conviction for the teenager’s death:
Samuel Soares’ death sentence took place in October of this year. According to the Public Ministry of the DF and Territories (MPDFT), everyone must serve their sentence in an initial closed regime.
The jury recognized the qualifiers pointed out by the deputy: bad reason (debts due to drug trafficking); a little cruel (Samuel suffered multiple injuries); and a resource that made it difficult to defend the victim (surprised when entering a vehicle).
