The delegate of the Spanish Government in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, informed this Saturday, December 20, Andalusian families with minors up to 16 years old who can now request aid of 100 euros to cover the purchase of glasses … or contact lenses (contact lenses) in one of the 388 opticians in Andalusia adhering to the “Plan Veo”.
It is an initiative of the Central Executive that “extends public health coverage, providing greater services to improve, in this case, the quality of life of children and adolescentsas highlighted by the Government Delegation in a note published this Saturday.
“This measure, with a total budget of 48 million euros, meets the dual objective of guaranteeing, on the one hand, the general well-being of minorswhich is intrinsically linked to their educational and social development, while at the same time representing a reduction in the expenses that families face to protect the visual health of their children,” said the delegate.
The “Veo Plan”, regulated by Royal Decree 902/2025 of October 7, will remain active until December 31, 2026 inclusive. Families should only seek help in person at an optical facility participating in the Plan.
The “Veo Plan” finances, to the tune of 100 euros, the acquisition of basic frames with organic anti-reflective corrective lenses; Iorganic graduated entities with anti-reflective treatment -this option is intended for situations in which you only want to change the lenses of the glasses-, and contact lenses made of hydrophilic or gas permeable material and the liquid contact lens solution necessary for their maintenance, “both in sufficient quantity for use for a period of one year”, or 365 days.
To be able to access the “Veo Plan”, beneficiaries must meet a series of conditions such as being aged 16 or younger at the time of accessing the plan, and have the right to publicly financed health care by the National Health System, a requirement that can be accredited by providing the CIPA code, which appears on the health card or on the document certifying to benefit from health care issued by the autonomous community.
Another condition to access these aids is “to have a diagnosed refractive problem that can be corrected using a visual aid system included in the ‘Veo Plan'”.
