Many ask every day that Red Dead Redemption 2 has a next-gen version for PS5 and Xbox Series
The first Red Dead Redemption (sequel to Red Dead Revolver) was released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010, to first debuted on PC in November last year. In 2023 we will also enjoy it on PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
It is expected that, if this re-release is confirmed, it will be the original version, or at most the GOTY edition that included the Undead Nightmare DLC. It’s unclear whether or not it will be a remaster.
What is official is that Red Dead Redemption now appears rated by age on the ESRB website, an American organization, with the following platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
A lot has to change so that John Marston’s adventure doesn’t reach current consoles, although for now it’s best to keep your feet on the ground.
Red Dead Redemption “reborn” for its 15th anniversary
The official ESRB website proves this: Red Dead Redemption could arrive sooner or later on PS5, Xbox Series X | S and Switch 2. Now has its own tab separate from the PS4, Switch or PC versions.
Next to the platforms appears the expected seal Mature +17that falls under the PEGI +18 which received here with its original release, due to ”blood and gore”, ”explicit violence”, ”nudes”, ”foul language”, ”drug use” and ”sexual content”.
Here we go, the usual stuff in Rockstar games. Anyone who has already liked this gem knows that it is a saga as harsh and with an adult tone, just like Grand Theft Auto.
Out of curiosity, the ESRB description confirms that these new versions will come with Undead Nightmare, the game’s zombie expansionsince the undead are explicitly mentioned.
John Marston fans are happy with the news, in the absence of official confirmation, but They regret that Red Dead Redemption 2 still does not show signs of life for its arrival on Switch 2. Maybe it could be announced at The Game Awards 2025?
Either way, it’s never too late to enjoy one of the greatest open-world adventures in history, and a Western gem on par with the masterpieces of the genre.
