Without spending anything and in just a few minutes, I transformed a forgotten tablet in a drawer into a working second screen for my laptop and the difference in productivity was immediate.
For those who have an iPad, it’s easy, after all, it’s been a long time since Apple introduced a native solution to communicate between Mac and iPadOS and make this easier. But what about those who own an Android tablet? Well, there are even paid apps that get the job done, but I recently improved my productivity and gave new life to an old tablet I have at home – and with a free app.
My Android tablet
I am the happy owner of a tablet that is not really rare, but not common either: a Nokia T20. Yes, this goes back to the days when HMD Global used the Finnish brand and delivered a relatively decent product for an equally affordable price.
Launched with Android 11 in 2021, the tablet has the following specifications:
- 10.4 inch IPS LCD screen with 1200 x 2000 pixels.
- Unisoc T610 processor 2x 1.8 GHz Cortex-A75 + 6x 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55
- 4 GB of RAM
- 64 GB of storage
- The battery is 8200 mAh
- Input for 4G chip
It also has a camera on the back and an OK camera on the front. And as you can see, there weren’t many settings when the tablet was released, and after it stopped running Android 13, they don’t guarantee very good performance either. However, the screen is very good — and that’s what matters.
Not that I need to justify buying the tablet, but while we’re talking about it, I bought it at a time when I only had a desktop computer and it was easier to use it to consume media anywhere, since its pair of stereo speakers are also regular and ideal for watching…
