
He Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobilitythrough AdifAVput into service this Saturday the new track 19 of the Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station, which brings the nine high-speed routes available in this station.
Specifically, five ways to pass (21, 22, 23, 24 and 25) and four are operational in the northern upper reaches (15, 16, 19 and 20), compared to the six existing roads before the works, which were all terminals. Once the expansion of the main hall is completed, the station will have 12 crossing tracks for high-speed trains, departing from the north and the south, as reported by the ministry.
He Adif’s goal is to put into service next year the complete renovation of Chamartínafter an investment of 557 million euros which will double the capacity of high-speed trains and passengers. This transformation takes place in phases maintain rail traffic and operating station in a context of ever more numerous travelers.
In 2024the station managed 44.4 million passengerscompared to 36.2 million in 2023 and 29.9 million recorded in 2022. This work is carried out of an earlier and independent character of the future global transformation of the station and its surroundings, as part of the project Chamartín Open Ecosystem.
In the the last two monthsAdif AV activated 2,112 additional square meters in the main hall, which now reaches 6,712 m², and has reorganized the entrances, partially recovering the main entrance.
