The Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, Guilherme Boulos, commented, this Saturday (20/12), on the dismissal of federal deputies Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ), in addition to the resignation of deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP), during a federal government agenda in the Heliópolis favela, in the southern zone of São Paulo.
In a press interview, Boulos emphasized that he was the only one of the three most voted deputies in São Paulo in the last elections to be in Brazil and “doing work.” He is on leave from his parliamentary mandate to fulfill his role as minister.
“By the way, here’s a curiosity. We are in São Paulo. In the last elections, the three most voted deputies were me (Guilherme Boulos), Carla Zambelli and Eduardo Bolsonaro. I am the only one in Brazil. In fact, here in Heliópolis I work. The other two are part of life,” said the minister.
For him, Eduardo, Ramagem and Zambelli should have been deposed “a long time ago”, saying the two had plotted and conspired against Brazil, before fleeing.
“But it is still not enough. The crimes they committed, these people will still have to pay, answer in court, in the dock and answer for the crime they committed,” concluded the minister.
Zambelli did not lose his mandate after the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies rejected his impeachment. However, she resigned from her position. The parliamentarian left Brazil in search of political asylum in Italy after being sentenced by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to 10 years in prison for the invasion of the electronic system of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), which occurred in 2023.
Eduardo was impeached due to excessive absences in the House. He has been in the United States since February, without authorization to vote by mail. Initially, the parliamentarian took leave, but the deadline ended.
Ramagem, like Eduardo, also had his mandate revoked by the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies. He was sentenced by the STF to 16 years, one month and 15 days in prison under a closed initial regime for participation in the 2022 coup plot. He left the country, circumventing the Court order, and is also in the United States.
Indirect to SP government
During his speech on the Government of Brazil’s street program, which offers services and public policies to neighborhood residents, Boulos sent allusions to the mayor of São Paulo and former political opponent, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), and to the state governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).
The minister said the two men had shown no interest in approaching the federal government and introducing public policies into the program.
“President Lula is not afraid to enter a favela. There is a governor who receives a standing ovation in Faria Lima. President Lula receives a standing ovation here in Heliópolis, in Paraisópolis, in the communities and on the outskirts of Brazil. In both cases, whoever applauds is right. Whoever applauds Tarcísio in Faria Lima is right, because he defends these groups there. Whoever applauds Lula here in the community is right. also it’s true, because he defends the people,” Boulos said.
Federal program
The Government of Brazil’s program on the streets arrived this Saturday morning in the Heliópolis favela, in the southern zone of São Paulo, and offers basic services, such as access to a dentist in mobile units, medical examinations and other INSS services.
In addition, the program also offers identity cards and microchips for dogs and cats, renegotiation of Caixa debts, registration for ID Jovem, which entitles to free passage on interstate buses, and vaccination updates for children and adults.
Services will be available to the population until 4 p.m. this Saturday, on Rua Marechal Pimentel, next to Paróquia Santa Edwiges.
According to the minister’s forecasts, the number of spectators in Heliópolis should not exceed that of the premiere, in Ceilândia, Brasilia, given that the event takes place in the run-up to the end-of-year holidays.
Boulos also mentioned that the program should be deactivated in July 2026, so as not to violate election laws that take effect after that time, but said 25 cities should be served by the initiative by the middle of next year.
