Rodrygo chipped in with a ball over the crossbar, an assist for Bellingham and a conceded penalty in the home side’s La Liga victory
With the Brazilians Vini Jr. and Rodrygo as starters, Real Madrid did their homework and, with great difficulty, beat Sevilla 2-0, much more on the weight of the jersey than on technique. The ball rolled this Saturday (20), at the Santiago Bernabéu, during a match on the 17th day of the Spanish Championship.
With this victory, Real then moves to 42 points and finds itself one behind Barcelona. But the Catalans are still on the field in this round (see below). Sevilla are tenth, right in the middle of the table, with 20.
In the next round, 4/1, Real Madrid faces another team from the beautiful Andalusian city: Betis, at the same Bernabéu. Sevilla will host Levante on the same date.
The home team’s goal came in the 37th minute of the first half. Rodrygo centered. Bellingham took an elevator to the third floor and climbed through the gates of the opposing citadel.
Then, goalkeeper Courtois stopped Sevilla’s attack. The team, however, stopped at the expulsion of Brazilian defender Marcão. From then on, Real Madrid also had their chances. Rodrygo, for example, hit the crossbar and even scored a penalty for Mbappé to convert the shot. The Frenchman has indeed equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record by scoring 59 goals in 2025. In 2013, the man achieved the same figure. They have therefore been the club’s top scorers for only one year.
