
From November 2023 to September 2025, 20,134 companies ceased operations nationwide and 154,382 registered private jobs were lost, according to a report by the Argentina Grande Institute based on official data.
With the sole exception of Neuquén, all jurisdictions have a negative balance in their production units. The province of Buenos Aires leads the list with the loss of 5,335 units, followed by Córdoba (3,457), the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (2,397) and Santa Fe (2,238).
At the sectoral level, the transport and warehousing services category is the most affected, with a decrease of 4,851 units of production in libertarian management.
Authoritarians don’t like that

Since Javier Milei assumed the presidency, 154,382 private jobs registered under the current libertarian government have been lost. The hardest hit sector was construction, with a decline of 64,100 employees, followed by industry, which fell by 47,900 employees.
Despite this scenario of destruction of formal employment, Indec’s labor market data for the third quarter of 2025 shows a strange paradox: the unemployment rate fell to 6.6%. However, the IAG makes it clear that this decline does not lead to an improvement in quality of life.
The study highlights that “84.5% of new jobs are informal,” suggesting that current economic activity is driven by low-quality and unprotected jobs.
