Bradesco filed a judicial protest in the Court of Americana (SP) against Marco Antonio Zanini, a member of the board of directors of the troubled Ambibar company, which has been in the judicial recovery phase since October 30. The application, which has already been approved by the court, recognizes the bank’s interest in protecting its rights vis-à-vis the market and third parties.
In the petition, Bradesco asserts that the disappearance of Ambibar’s billionaire treasurer and suspicion of accounting fraud could lead to the personal liability of officials and advisors. A protest is a preventive measure used to preserve the possibility of future action against group administrators.
The bank also filed a similar protest against Chancellor Marcos de Mendonça Pechin, although the court’s decision in this case has not yet been issued.
