Andalusia received last November a total of 912,161 international passengers at its airportswhich represents 12.4% of the national total and 13.1% more than in the same month of 2024.
In the accumulation since … beginning of the year, they are already more than 13.1 million foreign travelers arrived in Andalusia via its international airports8.2% more than in the same period of the previous year, according to data from Turespaña published by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism.
At the national level, The number of international airports exceeded 7.3 million in November, 7.9% more than the same month last yearas specified in a note published this Sunday by the Government Delegation in Andalusia, which also specifies that during the first eleven months of 2025, Spain welcomed 104 million international passengers, which represents an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period of 2024.
In November, an increase in international passenger arrivals was recorded in all major source markets, highlighting “notable” increases in Ireland, Poland, Switzerland and Italy, of more than 10%.
The chapter of market diversification (“rest of countries”) also experienced a “notable increase” this month, of 10.4%, highlighting, in volume of arrivals, the Persian Gulf countries, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, while in Asia China, South Korea and Japan stand out and, among the Ibero-American countries, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina also record increases.
Regarding the main source markets, in November the United Kingdom sent around 1.3 million international passengers and generated 18.2% of the total flow of arrivals to Spain, with an interannual advance of 3.3%. The Canary Islands were the main recipient of arrivals, with 38.7% of the total, and recorded a slight decrease of 0.5%.
This month also highlights the increase in arrivals in Andalusia, Valencian Community and Community of Madridwith more than 10,000 additional passengers compared to the same month of the previous year.
900,000 passengers flew from Germany in November, accounting for 12.2% of the total, representing a year-on-year increase of 3.4%. The Canary Islands were the main recipient, with a 36.8% share of arrivals, although they reported a “moderate decrease” of around 3,500 fewer passengers. The Valencian Community and Andalusia have benefited with more than 10,000 additional passengers this month.
From Italy 11.1% of the passenger flow received in November (814,216) arrived, recording a “remarkable” year-on-year growth of 12.2%. Catalonia and the Community of Madrid were the communities that benefited the most, with a combined reception of 60.2% of the total flow of arrivals, and respective interannual increases of 6.7% and 6.2%.
The rest of the communities were favored with “notable” increases, with the Valencian Community standing out with an increase of +52.3%. France delivered 6.9% of total passengers, an increase of 6.4% over one year.
Madrid accounted for 33.4% of total arrivals, and Catalonia, 26.7% of the flow, and both recorded increases, although Andalusia was “the most favored with a notable advance of 17.3%”. Finally, passengers arriving from the Netherlands represented 4.7% of the total and experienced an increase of 8.7%. These passengers headed mainly to the Valencian Community and Andalusia, representing 42% of the flow of arrivals.
All communities except the Basque Country experienced positive progress, particularly Valencia and the Principality of Asturias, with increases of more than 15%.
Autonomous communities of destination
In November, The six main autonomous communities of destination represented 97.5% of total arrivals, and all recorded increases. The Valencian Community recorded the most intense increase, of 20.2%, and the Canary Islands recorded the lowest increase, of 0.9%.
Concerning airports, Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas is the one who received the most arrivals in the month of Novemberwith just over two million – 7.6% more -, followed by Barcelona, with 1.5 million international passengers – an increase of 6.7% -, and Malaga, with 671,934 arrivals, which represents an increase of 10.7%. The largest year-on-year increase was recorded at Valencia Airport, with an increase of 33.9%.
